Osebo's Blog

I can still think

Over the last few years, I’ve done a bunch of interesting work and picked up learnings along the way—but I can make major improvements on how I document it. So I’m starting this blog as a place to keep track of my thoughts and share them with whoever’s curious. I’m doing this for myself first. I’ll add entries that are minimally edited, and some that are refined. Some entries will be short, and some I’ll ramble a bit. I’ll probably share some select works here too.

I’ve started blogs before and never stuck with them for one reason or another. This time, I’m going to do my best to keep it going. I’m also thinking about adding a Substack so people can subscribe, but I’m not sure. This webpage still needs tweaking but we’ll get there.

Writing is thinking and people are increasingly offloading this life task to LLMs. There’s a lot of discussion around these systems replacing jobs. We know that OpenAI is goal setting on creating a Software Engineer. Sam Altman has described an all knowing tower that humans consult with for answers. I don’t think anyone on Earth knows the implications of this… I think we can assume it’s existential. But until then, LLMs won’t make me cognitively scrawny. We’ll need to be more intentional about thinking. This blog is my attempt. It felt timely to start this as 2024 ends, and we move into 2025. Tweet
